Episode Transcript
In last week’s episode, we went through an exercise to reflect on and celebrate the last year. Today we are going to look ahead and reset for the coming 12 months. I created a guide with all the powerful self-coaching questions that I like to use for this kind of planning and manifestation exercise. You can sign up for the free guide via the link HERE. So let’s dive in!
I hope you all arrived well in the new year and already had a few fabulous first days.
If you have completed Part 1 of the Reflect & Reset Guide, now it’s time for the second part and to reset for the next 12 months. It’s important that you feel GOOD before starting. If you feel stressed, overwhelmed, or rushed, find a better time to do this very important exercise.
This is the second half of the “Reflect & Reset Guide” that you can sign up for via the link HERE. You can still listen to this episode where I will go a bit deeper into the questions but when you do the exercise make sure to start with the first part which is the reflection on 2021. They build on each other nicely.
※ LET’S GET STARTED ※
So how are you about setting new goals and intentions at the beginning of the year? Are you more YEAH or more MAEH? I like to go through exercises of reflection and planning for the year ahead – but more in a way of manifesting and dreaming big.
But the whole thing about setting resolutions I have given up on – I think I have had one too many falling through pretty quickly after the new year. I don’t want to call my goals and plans resolutions anymore. Do you feel the same? Maybe you still love to set resolutions and actually have quite some success with them – that´s so great.
I came across a post or an article last year that now popped into my head again. Instead of creating New Year resolutions, it was suggested to create New Years’ practices. That way you give yourself a whole year to practise. And if you don’t get it right from the start, it’s fine! You have 365 days to practise.
If you don’t achieve it every day, it’s fine! You can just practise again tomorrow and get better over time. I love that approach. So for you, if you still go for the resolution at this time of the year, take the opportunity to be kind to yourself and let yourself practice.
※ THE 2ND PART OF THE REFLECT & RESET GUIDE FOCUSES ON THE END IN MIND ※
It uses the technique of jumping 12 months ahead and looking back from that perspective. It means you visualize a future version of yourself which is a great manifestation practice. And by jumping into the role of your future self you can imagine better what will have happened in 2022 – or better, what you would want to happen in 2022. Are you with me?
So let’s get into the questions and provide you with a bit more insights on what to look out for and how best to answer them.
※ QUESTION 1 IS: HOW DOES YOUR PERFECT YEAR LOOK LIKE? ※
I am asking you to imagine it’s December 31st, 2022. As you look back and reflect on how well this year went for you, you decide it was PERFECT. What made it so perfect? Consider what happened for you to call this year a perfect year? What a great opportunity to now look back at the year 2022 being successful and great. Spend as much time as you want on this question!
※ IN QUESTION 2 I AM ASKING WHAT YOU DID DIFFERENTLY IN 2022 TO CREATE THIS PERFECT YEAR? ※
Maybe you changed some habits, some activities or shifted your attention and focus. Maybe you want to show up as a different person to your world. Anything big or small that can help you to make 2022 such a great year.
※ AND IN QUESTION 3 WE WANT TO GET CLEARER ON WHAT YOU DID LET GO OF TO CREATE THIS AMAZING YEAR 2022? ※
Especially from the first part of the exercise, maybe there was something in question 4 that you would like to discontinue or change. So can you let go of it in 2022 to make the year better for you, so you can enjoy yourself more?
※ IN QUESTION 4, I ASK YOU TO REFLECT ON THE YEAR 2022 … WHAT WORKED FOR YOU AND GAVE YOU ENERGY AND FUN? WHAT ACHIEVEMENTS ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF? ※
This is the part where you can start to make plans. What would you like to incorporate into your year? What can you see yourself enjoying and what would you like to accomplish in 2022. Be inspirations, be bold and dream big!
※ IN QUESTION 5, I ASK YOU HOW YOU COULD INCORPORATE MORE OF THE ANSWERS FROM PART 1, QUESTION 3 INTO 2022 TO HAVE EVEN MORE ENERGY? ※
So look back at your answer to question 3 in the previous half of the guide and see what you would like to take into the new year. How can you make sure that you have more of it?
And the last two questions are to be used as reminders and mantras for the year for you to check in with yourself and your energy levels.
※ QUESTION 6 IS: WHAT´S A REFLECTIVE AND GUIDING QUESTION YOU CAN CREATE AND ASK YOURSELF EVERY DAY IN 2022 THAT WILL MAKE YOU FOCUS ON MORE JOY AND FUN IN YOUR LIFE? ※
I am going to give you a few examples that can help you come up with your question for the year:
- What am I doing today to show that I love myself?
- How will I bring fun into my day today?
- How can I do it more easily?
- What will lift my spirit today?
- What can I let go of today to protect my energy levels?
So many choices and it all depends on your focus for the year. You know, our conscious and subconscious mind has to answer any question asked. So if you have this routine to ask your question, it does not even mean that you need to know the answer straight away – it might come to you during the day.
※ AND THE LAST QUESTION IS: WHAT IS THE FIRST WORD OR PHRASE THAT COMES TO YOU THAT SYMBOLIZES WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO CREATE AND EXPERIENCE OVER THE NEXT 12 MONTHS? ※
This is for you to create a mantra or affirmation that reminds you of how you want to show up in 2022. It could be any word or phrase that pops into your mind as long as it reminds you of this exercise, the plans you have made, or the perfect year.
That’s it! Even talking through these questions makes me itch to take a pen and start writing. Quite often it’s not just about the answers but the process of even asking ourselves these kinds of questions. We could all bring more quality questions into our lives. And as I mentioned, answers to some questions don’t always need to show up immediately. The subconscious will give us the right answer at the right time. But if we never ask the question in the first place, we can wait a long time for a significant answer.
